Having trained as a three dimensional artist, with a BA(Hons) in ceramics, my passion for painting has been nurtured through my teaching career.  For the past 20 years I have taught fine art and I am currently Head of Faculty for the Visual Arts in a large secondary school in Bristol.  With lower school teaching I really have become a very well rounded artist with interests across all fine art disciplines but my desire to paint really has taken off within my teaching of A-Level Fine Art, where I enjoy helping students work on larger scale canvas’.

With young children and a teaching career, finding time to do my own artwork outside of the classroom has been rather challenging! However, holidaying on the beaches of Pembrokeshire and Cornwall painting en plein air, really enjoying the sense of spontaneity which that brings, has kept me going!

My children are a little older now and so I have seized my moment!  My passion is landscape… I am hugely drawn to the world around us that we live in. The beauty of the rural landscape just speaks to my soul. My aim is for my work to be an extension of all my senses- an emotional response to what my body is physically experiencing, using colour and movement to express an abstract expressionist outcome…I am at the start of my own personal art journey and look forward to seeing how it unfolds.
