Mike Rome had been a Sussex artist, working primarily with oils for around 35 years, before moving to Bristol in November 2011. The subjects of his paintings range from landscapes to portraits, still life, nature, abstracts, and copies of Masterpieces. Seventeen copies of Masterpieces were featured in local and national newspaper articles in 2013, and discussed in an interview with BBC Radio Bristol in 2014.
His work has been shown locally in exhibitions at the Tinca Gallery in Portishead, The Guildhall, Bristol Crown Court (private exhibition),The Bristol School of Art, Clifton Arts Club Open, Clevedon Art Club Open, Tobacco Factory, Paintworks, four local art trails and various other venues around Bristol. He has a regular exhibition at his local, the Golden Guinea Pub in Redcliffe, and one of his limited edition prints can be seen in the Tourist Information Centre on Harbourside.
