Juliet Carmichael is inspired by the landscapes of Bristol and beyond.
She trained at Eastbourne Art School and Bower Ashton Art College in the ’70s, studying Illustration, and then trained as an art teacher at the London Institute. She taught in London and various schools in Bristol.
In the early eighties she travelled to India and the Far East to draw and paint and had her work shown at the Thumb Gallery and the Commonwealth Institute in London.
After moving to Bristol she got together with a small group of artists who meet regularly to paint in and around the city. She enjoys the company and creative criticism that her fellow artists provide. Juliet has been on several painting trips to the Scottish Isles and Pembrokeshire, and enjoys the contrast to the cityscapes of Bristol.
