Having worked for a number of years creating simple, strikingly colourful enamelled jewellery in silver and copper, Jane has recently also focused on enamelling small copper bowls. She continues to add to her range of enamelled leaves, with new additions from copies of leaves sent from France and South Africa.
The larger surfaces of the bowls and leaves, with their curves and slopes provide an excellent canvas for endless experimentation with the enamels. This year she has developed a collection of Paintings in a Pot – abstract creations in enamelled copper bowls in a range of colours. Small enough to be held in the hand and enjoy. When enamels are fired at higher temperatures they behave in interesting ways, not only with each other but the underlying metal. It means each piece is unique.
She works from a studio at home and exhibits on Arts Trails and Fairs around the region.
Her very portable enamelled leaves, jewellery and small bowls have been sent or taken as gifts to many parts of the UK and abroad including the US, China, France, Canada, Poland and Cyprus. They have made unique presents for house warming, wedding presents, anniversaries etc. She is happy to undertake commissions of individual pieces.
