Liz Vibert is a self-taught, Bristol-born artist who had an earlier career as a novelist. This has informed her figurative oils in which colour and imagination play equal roles. The subject matter of her paintings tends to come from remembered scenes of a happy, 1940s childhood, often embellished with scraps of dreams and mythology. Her love of the Symbolists and the Ruralists provides her with inspiration.
Liz has been involved with the West Bristol Arts Trail since its inception. Her numeroussolo and group exhibitions include the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the RWA Autumn Exhibition and New Gallery, Primavera Gallery, Cambridge, West Wales Workshop Gallery, the Bristol Guild and the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Art, Exeter.
Awards include the Dawn Sidoli Prize, Clifton Arts Club, 2009 and the Art Care Exhibition, Salisbury, Overall Winner, 2010.
She organises painting holidays in France and Italy.
