Taking inspiration from wintery wild coastal landscapes, I’m currently exploring work that offers a sense of spaciousness, visually and emotionally. I love big weather and dramatic skies.
Beginning with expressive mark making, building layers and energy. Adding and stripping back until the right balance of strong and delicate, bold and peaceful is achieved, and the energies and big emotions are expressed and contained.
I hope my paintings create an invitation to stop and pause; to take a moment for reflection and calm. A meditation. A moment of stillness, and a nudge to slow down and take a breath.
