My work includes textiles, mixed media, drawing and painting. I studied Creative Arts at Bath Spa University (Textiles and Fine Art, BA (Hons) First Class) before completing a Masters Degree in Fashion and Textiles at the same university.

 

Drawing and photography is the starting point for my work, and illustrations of the natural world become the inspiration for my textiles and paintings. I am fascinated by memory and dreams and these are also recurring themes within my work.

My textiles are made from hand dyed fabric, including luxurious velvets and silks, and re-purposed fabrics.

 

Artists who inspire me include Kurt Jackson, Cy Twombly, Francis Bacon, Paula Rego, Helen Frankenthaler, Jenny Savile and William Blake (among many others!).
