I’m a self-taught artist and I’ve lived in West Bristol for the last 20 years. I’ve been creating art seriously for just the last year. I found out about resin art when revamping my kitchen and I’ve been learning and experimenting since then.

I’m very passionate about the environment and science in general, especially astronomy, and it often leaks into my art. I like to use recycled materials as much as possible in my practice. So, I upcycle old tables, to give them a new lease of life, but in spectacular and unexpected ways. My recent large ‘canvasses’ are recycled wood from a dismantled old built-in wardrobe.

I like to play with light, so I use transparent canvasses too (reclaimed acrylic sheet, rescued from a specialist waste skip). The transparency of resin allows my pieces to show depth and they can be lit from behind, or even from within (when lit by LEDs embedded in the resin).

I am a strong advocate of LGBTQ+ pride and recently BLM: in fact I will fight against prejudice of all sorts. This happily fits with a rainbow pallette and since I love bright and cheerful colours a lot of my art is vibrant, also glittery and specular. I also like to incorporate fluorescent pigments into my work, so quite a lot of my art will glow in the dark or under a black-light.

3D and resin artwork does not photograph particularly well; its too shiny and perspectives are difficult. So please come along to see some truly unusual art.
